Justin Martin, SPT, University of St. Augustine – Spring 2025 Intern
As a Doctor of Physical Therapy student, I had the privilege of completing a clinical rotation at this outstanding orthopedic practice, and I could not be more grateful for the experience. From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt welcomed—not just as a student, but as a valued member of the team.
The environment fostered by the entire staff is one of professionalism, compassion, and collaboration. Every clinician and team member I encountered was not only deeply knowledgeable but also passionate about providing the highest level of patient care. The balance they strike between evidence-based treatment and individualized care plans is something I’ll carry with me throughout my career.
During my time here, I had the opportunity to observe and participate in a wide range of orthopedic treatments—from manual therapy and therapeutic exercise to neuromuscular re-education and patient education. What stood out to me most was the way clinicians ensured that every patient was both heard and actively involved in their own recovery process. It was clear that patients weren’t just receiving care—they were receiving thoughtful, personalized care tailored to their goals and lifestyles.
This experience was pivotal for my development as a future physical therapist. I gained hands-on exposure to best practices in orthopedic rehabilitation, improved my clinical reasoning, and developed stronger communication and documentation skills. Just as importantly, I saw firsthand the kind of culture and commitment it takes to truly make a difference in people’s lives through physical therapy.
I leave this rotation not only with a stronger clinical foundation but with an even deeper passion for this field. To anyone considering physical therapy treatment or a clinical rotation at this practice—know that you will be in excellent hands.
Thank you to the entire team for investing in my growth and showing me what high-quality, patient-centered care looks like. I’ll carry this experience with me always.
